Algorithmic Publishing Is Not Self-Publishing is a publication-taxonomy paper by Lee Sharks.
It distinguishes self-deposition, repository publication, and algorithmic publication events. A work becomes algorithmically published, in the paper’s proposed vocabulary, when external systems select, summarize, and deliver it to users rather than merely hosting the author’s upload.
The paper defines six benchmarks and separates attributed reception from uncredited adoption of coined vocabulary.
It does not equate algorithmic selection with peer review. “Algorithmic publishing” remains a proposed analytical category rather than an established publishing standard.
