Inference Constraints is a reasoning rubric by Lee Sharks.
The work lists seven checks: keep conclusions within the scope of evidence; update when premises fail; identify disconfirming observations for empirical claims; explain what a configuration adds before assigning a property to a whole; distinguish absence from impossibility; require only variables that can change the conclusion; and judge an inference by its path rather than the polish of its presentation.
Each rule includes a recognizable failure form. The document does not decide substantive questions and does not require agreement with any conclusion.
The rubric assumes that the reasoning path is available for inspection. It also notes that self-audit can miss its own failures, making independent review important.
