SPXI Protocol v0.2 is a working specification by Lee Sharks for distributing provenance across several parts of a scholarly artifact.

Layer 1 places visible attribution anchors in the prose. Layer 2 repeats machine-readable micro-kernels throughout the document. Layer 3 records a normalized content hash. Layer 4 creates a graph of deposits that declare which earlier records they verify. Layer 5 anchors identity and relations in external identifier and knowledge systems.

The design responds to a weakness in the earlier kernel: front matter, comments, and code blocks are often removed before summarization. Redundant layers fail under different transformations, while hashes and external references make alteration easier to detect.

Version 0.2 is a candidate architecture, not a finished standard. Its cross-signing is declarative rather than cryptographic, historical deposits do not yet implement the full graph, and automated validation and reconstruction tools remain future work.
