A Body Prepared is a historical-theological fiction in the Shark Ark branch of the Crimson Hexagonal Archive. It is attributed to Rebekah Cranes for the Dodecad.
The narrative follows Yehonatan, a young scribe in a workshop near the Dead Sea before the Roman destruction of Jerusalem. The workshop is creating both a long apocalyptic text and a linen image of a body that has not yet lived. Scribes compose verses corresponding to wounds; women led by Miryam of Beit-Shemesh develop the cloth through blood, oil, spice, weave, and controlled chemical aging. The fiction describes this as writing one figure in two alphabets: word and material trace.
When the cloth is taken to Jerusalem, a scroll returns in an unrecognized voice, and the direction of composition reverses. The artifact begins to reshape the text and the people who made it. The work then disperses text, cloth, and commentary into separate transmission paths. The story is a literary embodiment of Shark Ark hypotheses concerning Revelation, relics, workshops, and compression. It does not present the imagined workshop, cloth fabrication, or transmission history as established historical fact.
