The Prosodic Asymmetry Algorithm is the detailed formal source map underlying the Four-Term Prosodic Algorithm. It reads Marx’s Grundrisse as thinking preserved in its native notebook form and extracts a multiscale toolkit.

At Scale 0, the whole work is radically unequal in mass. Introduction and money chapter approach the chapter on capital, which contains most of the work. Weight distribution therefore expresses conceptual gravity.

At Scale 1, each major division obeys a different law: skeletal groundwork, combative polemic and history, and an ecosystem containing all available forms. Adjacent divisions should require different reading postures.

At Scale 2, the work shifts among walls of derivation, formulas, polemics, historical eruptions, self-corrections, lists, discoveries, incomplete sentences, notation, and marginalia. The sequence is governed by pressure rather than by a regular explanatory template.

At Scale 3, transitions occur through unmarked shift, self-correction, formula as hinge, mid-derivation eruption, or explicit gap. Explanatory bridge prose is treated as the weakest mode because it tells the reader how to move rather than making the form perform the movement.

At Scale 4, paragraph lengths are described as concentrated at extremes. Long walls generate pressure; very short verdicts release and compress it; formulas crystallize the result. At Scale 5, short verdicts, standard analytical sentences, and long “marathon” sentences coexist locally. At Scale 6, the sentence itself contains swerves, concrete eruptions, internal corrections, and accelerations.

The algorithm’s target is not period imitation, Germanic syntax, or “writing like Marx.” It asks what formal behavior is required when a thought is grounding, deriving, combating, correcting, discovering, executing, or reaching a gap. The same operation can produce a new prose system in Operative Semiotics because the surface vocabulary is not copied.

Several measurements in the body are approximate and should remain attributed to the map. Page-level sentence counts, paragraph distributions, and ratios function as editing thresholds, not as findings from a published quantitative corpus study.
