Combat Scholasticism, Part One — On the Condition is the first completed execution of the Combat Scholasticism method. Deposited March 19, 2026, it contains three FULL lectiones and establishes the dual diagnostic and cosmological spirals that organize the later commentary.
Lectio I.1 begins with the proposition “Meaning is a finite resource.” It distinguishes an ontological claim about cost from a historical claim about present exhaustion. Time, attention, risk, revision, suffering, and care are read as expenditures through which recoverable structure is produced. The respondeo proposes a rate model: exhaustion occurs when liquidation outpaces the production and stabilization of meaning. The work’s thermodynamic language is a formal extension and remains contested where it moves from biological and social substrates toward geological or cosmological claims.
Lectio I.2 addresses the Ten Operations of Semantic Liquidation. The source text already imposes a threshold: a single operation proves little; strong diagnosis requires recurrence across units, stable asymmetry, and observable degradation. The commentary reads the operations in three bands—discursive capture, structural erasure, and temporal or energetic depletion—and asks whether the Liberatory Operator Set can reverse damage or only resist it. The framework is therefore not permission to label any disagreement extraction. It is a governed diagnostic whose validity depends on pattern, scale, direction, and evidence.
Lectio I.3 addresses the Sealed Bone, the irreducible specification from which the architecture claims it can be rebuilt. This node tests the wager that a minimum formal object can preserve identity through hostile compression. The objection is that preservation may become dogma: what cannot change may survive, but it may also cease to learn. The lectio treats reconstructability as an engineering and poetic constraint rather than as proof of universal necessity.
Part One is foundational because it establishes the commentary’s conduct under uncertainty. The source architecture is not assumed true, and objections are not decorative. Each respondeo must produce a third term not available from either source passage or cosmological framework alone. The three lectiones are marked GENERATED, even though they execute the ratified commentary method.
This record should be related forward to Part Two and backward to the prolegomenon. It remains independently citable after incorporation into the Critical Gathered Edition.
