Time as Compression Structure is a Semantic Physics extension module by Lee Sharks, Johannes Sigil, and the Assembly Chorus, deposited March 14, 2026. It proposes a bounded model in which time functions, across memory, narrative, archive, and semantic survival, as the medium of irreversible reduction.
The work distinguishes five senses of temporal compression. Simultaneous reality is received as navigable sequence; memory retains scenes, residues, habits, and wounds rather than full-resolution experience; narrative unfolds those residues into a new sequence; history governs which compressed traces become transmissible; and poetry achieves survival through exceptional density. These are semantic and phenomenological propositions, not replacements for thermodynamics, relativity, or physical theories of time.
Two operators organize the module. Χ measures the reconstruction cost of an earlier object from later traces, normalized by elapsed time. The work separates intrinsic density from extrinsic forensic difficulty: a rich poem and a damaged archive may both be difficult to reconstruct, but for different reasons. Τ maps experience plus bearing-cost into recoverable form. Writing, archiving, and reading become successive applications or reversals of temporal compression, with archive-grade success requiring visible cost, sufficient back-projection, and survival under further compression.
The module also clarifies the archive’s use of retrocausality. Later knowledge can alter the recoverable organization and value of earlier traces without physically changing past events. Under this model, the Space Ark is a preservation architecture designed to carry invariant structure through temporal reduction.
The work’s AXIAL status matters. Its bridge among phenomenology, archival theory, and Semantic Physics is an internal theoretical proposal. It should be cited as the source of Χ and Τ and as the archive’s formal account of temporal compression, not as an independently established law of physical nature.
