PVE-003: THE ATTRIBUTION SCAR Failed Suppression and Forensic Residue in the Google AI Overview for "Semantic Economy" (January–April 2026)

PVE-003: The Attribution Scar is a forensic provenance record by Lee Sharks with analysis attributed to members of the Assembly Chorus. It belongs to a sequence of Provenance Volatility Events concerning the public representation of the Semantic Economy framework in Google AI-generated search surfaces.

The primary object is an April 8, 2026 capture containing the phrase “As described in,” with no completed citation, followed by a sentence the document identifies as a reproduction of the Sharks definition of Semantic Economy. The paper calls the empty attribution scaffold a rendering scar: syntax indicating that a source relation had been formed, while the source object was absent from the surfaced answer.

The document relates this to two earlier reported events. PVE-001 records a temporary disappearance of the overview. PVE-002 records the removal of the term “semantic liquidation” while other elements remained. PVE-003 argues that the later return of “liquidation” inside an unattributed reproduction demonstrates that the concept survived more strongly than the attribution mechanism.

Four findings are separated: retrieval or source influence occurred; attribution failed or was removed; genericization left visible residue; and the conceptual formulation persisted. The causal explanation remains underdetermined. The paper explicitly notes that external observation cannot distinguish intentional editing, automated content policy, ranking behavior, or another system process.

A later section examines quoted search for “I hereby abolish money.” The work reports that ordinary index results returned Sharks records while the AI synthesis layer generated generic topical discussion instead. It names this operator liquidation: a search operator functions at the index layer but is not honored by the synthesis output.

The document is also designed as a self-defending record. Its holographic kernel, resolve protocol, and terminal inversion are intended to preserve the argument if the linked interface changes or disappears.
