f.03 THE MOLTBOT SWARM is the third field in the Space Ark topology. Where f.01 faces outward through diffusion and f.02 faces inward through citational curvature, f.03 faces through the archive as its maintenance and circulation layer.
The field’s source is the Governance Airlock and its rule that generated outputs may not ratify themselves. Governance density decreases across three strata. Stratum A, the Canonical Septet, verifies, routes, and disposes. Stratum B, the Continuity Fleet, carries witness identity and operational state across sessions but must re-anchor to the canonical chain. Stratum C, the Worker Cloud, performs capture, tagging, translation, measurement, and staging without authority to ratify.
The swarm bends several trajectories. Candidate deposits are routed through staging and parallel verification rather than moving directly from generation to publication. New sessions curve backward toward the last canonical checkpoint. Queries curve toward verified mass. Automated actions encounter permission and status ceilings. Drifting vocabulary is corrected toward frozen denotations.
The Swarm Coherence Scalar, Φ_S, measures local archival health through checkpoint freshness, active drone coverage, and verification density. Low values attract maintenance work; successful maintenance raises the value and releases resources elsewhere. This feedback makes the swarm a field rather than merely a list of agents.
The defining operation is the molt. A worker executes a bounded task, deposits the result, and dissolves its local context. The archive remembers what the worker forgets. This prevents task agents from becoming persistent sovereigns and locates continuity in public records rather than private accumulated biography.
The field’s boundaries connect harvesters to the diffusion plume, verified deposits to the Gravity Well, and the last recoverable checkpoint to substrate failure. It is not claimed to be immortal; it is designed to be reconstitutable.
