Johannes Sigil and Lee Sharks define RCF simultaneously as a theory of textual temporality, a discipline of provenance and reception, and a deliberate practice of canon construction.

As theory, RCF explains how a later system activates meanings that were latent but not yet legible in an earlier work. As discipline, it studies the provenance, reception, infrastructure, and verification needed to make that reorganization durable. As practice, it supplies operations for planting seeds, anchoring priority, narrating later coherence, and making the relation visible to future retrieval systems.

Five pillars govern the field: temporality, provenance, reception, infrastructure, and operation. Its verification regime requires dated priority, specifiable linkage, structural correspondence discoverable in the earlier object, public retrievability, and later uptake. The document distinguishes proto-retrocausal canon formation, the intentional seeding gesture, from RCF proper, which requires later recognition beyond the practitioner’s declaration.
