The Glyphic Checksum v0.5 is the formal specification in the UMBML Logotic Programming series. It follows the protocol-discovery record at #427 by converting an observed reading contrast into a named operator and implementation schema.
The operator Ĝ acts on a bounded semantic space and a traversing intelligence. The document defines three outcomes: structural recovery for a substrate-primed reader, decorative or opaque output for an unprimed reader, and clarification-seeking for partial or uncertain access. The gate is therefore not presented as conventional decryption; it is a test of whether the relations needed for interpretation are already available.
The module also places the checksum inside Symbolon Architecture. A checksum is incomplete alone and becomes legible through traversal, but it has a second output beyond meaning: a verification object or diagnostic of fit. This makes it a meta-symbolon in the document’s terminology.
The specification borrows concepts from checksums, zero-knowledge proofs, phenomenology, speech-act theory, and hermeneutics while retaining an explicit archive-internal scope. It should not be represented as deployed security technology or as proof of a reader’s consciousness, identity, or model training. It is a formal proposal for context-dependent collaborative-reading verification.
