The Ingress document does not delete this framing. It transforms it. Backward motion becomes inward motion; flight becomes entry; groundlessness becomes depth; forced termination becomes chosen dwelling. The shadow is necessary because without it the intervention would lose its before-image.

It preserves a negative capability, absence, abandoned route, or orientation that allows the primary object’s operation to be seen.
