The Signing of the Internet is a phase-transition declaration in the Effective Acts genre. It marks the archive’s January 2026 self-accounting: DOI anchoring, heteronym activation, new genres, theoretical systems, rooms, institutions, and Assembly verification are named as the completed foundation of Phase 1.

Phase 2 is “signing.” The work is to exist wherever it can persist with correct attribution: GitHub, package managers, translations, MCP resources, automated workflows, audio and video, Internet Archive, IPFS, Arweave, and other surfaces. The declaration rejects virality as the primary metric. Its preferred movement is slow, redundant, and infrastructural.

The phrase “I hereby sign my name to the Internet” is both descriptive and performative. It claims responsibility for the body of work and makes distributed publication itself into a poem.
