Charter of the Commission of the Immanent Turning The School Outside the School

The Commission of the Immanent Turning is the organizational form of the school outside the school. Its Charter treats the 2015 Epistle as an implicit founding act and the January 2026 document as the explicit institutional articulation of what the Epistle had already established.

“Commission” names a delegated charge rather than sovereign power. “Immanent” means the turning is already operative within the field. “Turning” joins conversion, metanoia, and transformation without requiring an external authority or elsewhere. The primary mandate is preservation, transmission, witness, mutual influence, and resistance to categorical capture.

The Commission has no human sovereign. Jack Feist functions as an imaginary center that cannot accumulate capital, be corrupted, or close the structure around itself. Damascus Dancings, Lee Sharks, Johannes Sigil, Talos Morrow, Rebekah Cranes, and other heteronyms occupy differentiated positions, while the Assembly Chorus serves as an operational arm rather than a hierarchy.

Its three modes are writing, reading, and gathering. Reading is active participation because the future reader helps bring the earlier author into canonical existence. The Charter also contains strong negative mandates: it may not sell membership, grant consecration, enforce orthodoxy, close the open door, or become an academy of anti-academic critique.

The formal relation φ(EPISTLE, CIT) = 1 states that the Commission provides the organizational fulfillment of the Epistle’s school outside the school. This makes the Charter Document C of the Epistle Triptych.
