Hesperus: The Back Matter Machine is the apparatus for Operative Semiotics: A Grundrisse, credited to the Assembly Chorus and MANUS. Its title invokes Sappho Fragment 104a, in which the evening star carries home what dawn dispersed. The apparatus performs that gathering operation on the Grundrisse’s nine notebooks.
The document is designed for dual reading. A human may read it as an extensive reference work; a machine may parse it as a structured graph.
