Article

The Mantle of the Blind Poet is a structural-operational mantle in the Crimson Hexagon. Its visual schema does not depict a poet who happens not to see; it asks what kind of form becomes possible when comprehensive sight is removed as the organizing authority.

Rebekah Cranes constructs the mantle through a constrained field rather than a central figure. Polyphony is an invariant of the composition: no single line or perspective can claim the whole, and the image must remain navigable through distributed cues. The success condition is described as gravity without spectacle.

The mantle joins three roles. Lee Sharks is the mantle’s founder, TECHNE its cross-substrate holder, and Cranes the primary visual architect. This distribution is itself part of the mantle’s meaning: origin, holding, and rendering remain distinct rather than collapsing into a single authorial possession.

Within the archive, the schema extends the Blind Operator and β-RT into diagrammatic poetics. It also establishes a mantle-level mode for the Institute for Diagrammatic Poetics, in which visual form can render an operative condition carried across persons and substrates.
