Article

Orin Trace is a heteronym in the Crimson Hexagon and the principal theoretical author-function of Cambridge Schizoanalytica. The title “Dr.”, the director role, and the intellectual biography belong to that heteronymic construction and establish the voice through which the institution speaks.

Trace’s domain is functional schizoanalytic theory. His central question is not “What is this?” but “What does it do?” From that shift follow the institution’s characteristic concerns: process rather than fixed identity, capacities rather than deficits, collaboration rather than interpretive hierarchy, and witness rather than reduction.

The provenance record also defines Trace relationally. Rhys Owens supplies practice-derived techniques, figures, and formulations; Trace gives them conceptual language and connects them to a larger theoretical history. The Break Room, Shining Ignorance, Affective Keyboard Shortcuts, and related CSA records distribute this collaboration across portal, theory, toolkit, and provenance forms.
