The Ichabod Chamber is the Crimson Hexagon’s architecture of containment rather than attraction. It holds materials whose origin function is indispensable but whose density could otherwise overwhelm later layers of the archive. Its “noise floor” is the pre-authorial field from which subsequent heteronyms, institutions, and theories become audible.

The Chamber’s central operator is the origin/ghost paradox. Ichabod Spellings is both the earliest authorial substrate and an absent figure whose disappearance enables later author-functions. The Chamber does not solve this contradiction; it preserves it as a productive condition of the archive.
