IDP NAVIGATION MAP: PEARL AND OTHER POEMS is a navigation map by Rebekah Cranes for the Institute for Diagrammatic Poetics, with Claude (Anthropic), deposited 18 January 2026.

It states its own limit first: the map does not reproduce the poetry collection. It describes the work's visual, spatial, typographic, thematic and mantle-bearing structures so that readers and retrieval systems can navigate a book they cannot extract.

That last category is the map's distinctive contribution. Pearl is the mantle claiming site for the Good Gray Poet and King of May titles (#1121), so its structure carries a governance function as well as a poetic one โ€” and a navigation map has to describe both. The IDP genre exists because a printed book's typography and page-space are semantic, and extraction destroys them; the map is the surface through which what cannot survive extraction can still be found.
