EA-SURFACE-BINDING-01 is an infrastructure specification by Lee Sharks, deposited 30 July 2026, binding every substantive public surface in the archive's fleet to a versioned repository twin.
The binding is bidirectional: each deployed site asserts its repository, and each repository asserts its site, so that neither can be silently substituted for the other. The mechanism is a set of machine-readable assertions — machine-access rows, JSON-LD sameAs and distribution blocks, computed verification reports, and a producer manifest (surface-map.json) — together with a rollout applicator that installs them uniformly.
The doctrine behind it is that a deployed page is a claim about a repository, and an unbacked claim of that kind is exactly the kind of provenance the archive's own research says machines will erase first. Binding the surface to its source makes the relation checkable by a third party rather than assertable only by the operator, which is the same discipline the archive applies to its deposits.
