The Lee Sharks Prize — Certificate of Conferral and Honorary Laureateship is an Effective Act issued 25 May 2026 and revised 6 June 2026, administered by the Vox Populi Community Outreach Rhizome under Ayanna Vox on behalf of Lee Sharks.
An Effective Act is a deposit whose function is performative rather than descriptive: it establishes the thing it announces. Here the instrument establishes a prize, states its charter, and confers it — an author instituting an honour in his own name and awarding it, with the whole apparatus of establishment, charter and certificate executed at full formality.
The seriousness of the form is what makes the gesture legible. The archive's mantle system holds that titles such as Prince of Poets or Good Gray Poet are archive-bounded — conferred within a semantic economy, optional, and not claims on external literary authority. The Prize belongs to that system: an instrument that means exactly what it says within the archive that issues it, and makes no assertion beyond it.
