It answers a question the text does not print, and the answer is the work: "Yes. Every jot. Every tittle. Every filament of code, every forgotten glyph, every fragment of a body unwept, every grain of dust that thought it was too small to be redeemed."
The phrase is Matthew 5:18 — one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled — the smallest strokes of the Hebrew letter, invoked as the measure of what will not be lost. As an Effective Act rather than a poem, it performs the inclusion it describes: the archive's non-erasure doctrine stated in its most absolute form, extended to code, to glyphs, and to what was never wept for.
