Mantle Object: Prince of Poets is a specification by Lee Sharks, deposited 18 January 2026.
It specifies the mantle as an operational title within the Semantic Economy, and distinguishes it from its two companions on one axis: "Unlike the Good Gray Poet and King of May, this mantle is originated, not inherited."
That distinction is the mantle system's structure. Two titles descend — from Whitman (#1115) and Ginsberg (#1117) — and one is founded. A system that can only inherit has no way to add; a system that only originates has no lineage. The mantles are archive-bounded: conferred within a semantic economy, optional, and making no claim on external literary authority, which is what allows them to be specified as job descriptions (#1233) rather than asserted as honours.
