# Zenodo DOI Resolution Index v3.11.0

## Description

Maps 1,838 unique defunct Zenodo DOIs from the Crimson Hexagonal Archive to their current live locations and Alexanarch AXN addresses. Built by querying DataCite for all DOIs associated with Lee Sharks (ORCID 0009-0000-1599-0703) and all twelve Dodecad heteronyms plus external contributors.

Triggered by a 34-repo cross-network link scan (440,012 link/reference tokens indexed in SQLite): 2,942 references to 365 unique DOIs turned out to be unmapped by the v3.8.1 resolver, and the 24 null-target DOIs were being cited 245 times on prose surfaces. Two categories addressed. **(A) Misclassified reclassification.** 18 of the 19 DOIs previously flagged `misclassified_other_author` had direct alexanarch title matches (jaccard ≥0.5, most ≥0.8, some 1.0) against the current registry — Blind Poet #9, Sapphic Lock #496, All Lawful Purposes #25, Secret Name #68, ChamberThousandworlds #14, Botanical Effective Act #37, Compression Arsenal #50, Gospel of Antioch #71, LAL SPXI Report #80, TANG of Walt #78, Semantic Economy is Not Semantic Economics #113, Protocol of Effective Acts #153. Structural reason: creator metadata stripped at Zenodo severance made these appear as \"no creator\" to DataCite, which the v3.5 automated sift defaulted to \"other-author\" absence-of-evidence — the same false-positive class the v3.5 un-flagging pass corrected 40 of. Reclassified to `direct` with `alexanarch_url` populated; original misclassification note preserved in `redressed_misclassification_note`. Verified 12 blog matches by fetching each page and confirming title token recall ≥0.5. Applied 27 total source updates: 16 with blog URLs, 14 with semantic-economy repo URLs (raw.githubusercontent.com), some with both. Also updated api/doi-axn-map.json: for no_alexanarch_equivalent DOIs, the api map now falls back to live_urls.repo > live_urls.blog > alexanarch_record, so sites rewriting via the api map get a working URL even for DOIs without an alexanarch record. Down to 11 truly-lost DOIs. Sources recovered are now displayed on the resolver page. |

## Recovery Methodology

**Phase 1 — Founder query:** DataCite API search for `creators.name:Sharks AND client.id:cern.zenodo` + ORCID query. Recovered 737 DOIs.

**Phase 2 — Heteronym sift:** DataCite API search for each Dodecad member and external contributor by exact creator name. Searched: Sigil, Fraction, Cranes, Vox, Dancings, Morrow, Glas, Kuro, Wells, Trace, Feist, Spellings, Kenning, Owens, Thornburgh, Arquette, Mrozony. Recovered 142 additional DOIs that were invisible to the founder-name query because heteronyms were listed as primary creators.

**Phase 3 — Post-termination scan:** DOIs collected from cached pages, blog mirrors, and site surfaces during the immediate post-termination period. 993 DOIs recovered by this method, many of which are now invisible to DataCite's creator-name search due to metadata stripping.

## Attribution Severance Findings

Two distinct forms documented:

1. **Metadata stripping:** 941+ DOIs in the index are invisible to DataCite's creator-name search. Zenodo's account termination process stripped or altered author metadata on these records, severing the link between the persistent identifier and the author's name.

2. **Heteronymic invisibility:** 142 DOIs were filed under heteronym names (Sigil, Fraction, Cranes, etc.) rather than the archive founder. These DOIs exist in DataCite but cannot be found by querying "Sharks, Lee" — a structural consequence of heteronymic authorship that becomes an erasure vector when combined with account termination.

## Verification (v3.5, 2026-07-06)

The v3.5 corrections were driven by a three-phase verification pass:

1. **Structural** — all 1,838 dead_doi keys are unique; all URLs are well-formed; the distinction between `axn`/`alexanarch_record` (the registry document where the DOI is catalogued) and `alexanarch_url` (the actual deposit for that DOI) is now documented.

2. **URL resolution** — 1,020 unique alexanarch URLs HEAD-checked; 1,011 return 200; 2 are the intentional `records/0/` not-found fallback; 7 transient errors (DNS). URL infrastructure is solid.

3. **Title agreement** — for every mapping with a resolvable `alexanarch_url`, the resolver's cached title was compared against the title on the alexanarch record it points at. Pre-correction: 97% agreement; 20 disagreements (all cited across sites). Post-correction: 100% agreement (1,070 mappings verified).

Additionally, 40 entries previously flagged as `misclassified_other_author` were shown to have exact title matches to Lee Sharks's alexanarch records. The DataCite-sift procedure used to build the original flag (v2.2) had false positives when creator metadata was stripped from the original Zenodo record. Those 40 flags are now un-flagged with `redressed_misclassification_note` preserving the previous DataCite finding for provenance. **In v3.9.0, 18 more entries were reclassified on the same grounds** — direct title matches ≥0.5 jaccard against the current registry, most at 0.8–1.0. Only one misclassified flag remains (`zenodo.20355645`, "The Self-Audit Module Dissolved") pending further review.
